My 20 year musical career to-date has been mainly in India performing on stage, TV and radio. I have been based in the UK for the past 12 years performing and teaching in and around Bedford. In 2011 I performed at the House of Commons Diwali function, organised by the Hindu Society of Great Britain. In 2010 and 2011 I performed in community concerts with the London Philharmonia to orchestrated scores of my work.

In Mumbai I have sung on stage with the likes of Abhijeet and Kavita Krishnamoortii as well as my own spot on All India Radio for 7 years.

I have a smooth, powerful classically trained voice. Although much of my original music is contemporary and fusion, my heart lies in the old classics and ghazals. My work has been covered extensively in the Indian press. I have now started to build up a UK following.

In 2003 I cut my first CD followed by another in 2005. My latest work is Bijlie Mein (Electric Zone). I hope you like what you hear.

Pooja invites you to step into the Electric Zone with her distinctive and powerful brand of Indian Fusion music.

Effortlessly fusing traditional Indian folk and Bollywood inspired tracks unashamedly with reggae, rap, jazz, funk and other styles. Instruments are drawn from both Indian and western music, with the tabla carrying much of the percussion. The result is 'edgy' and engaging with a familiarity that belies it's creativity and innovation.

The work was written entirely for Pooja to take advantage of her versatile voice; her smooth, powerful tones providing an antidote to the hard-edged music.

Experimental Fusion. Combines Indian lyrics with westernised music. Warm, melodic tones and a smooth, forward vocal, around the theme of love, sets a melancholic mood and produces an Indian sound which is truly accessible across cultures. (read a review)
