India Association

The India Association, was founded in 1948 and was incorporated as an association in 1965 to promote India’s cultural heritage through cultural and social functions. It organises a Diwali Ball every year, hosting music and dance troupes from India. It also raises funds for charitable purposes. It was instrumental in hosting dignitaries such as former President Dr. Rajendra Prasad, and former Prime Minister Mr. Jawaharlal Nehru. It gives scholarships to deserving Chinese students in Hong Kong, assists needy Indians in Hong Kong and India, and allocates funds for disaster relief, whenever the need arises. The patrons of the Association are the Consul General of India and Dr. Hari N. Harilela.
