Their customer service is terrible. I mean TERRIBLE! The owner is a stuck up, ill mannered man who sits all day at the cash.
This store makes over 400% profit MINIMUM on almost every item. Most of their saris and Indian shalwar suits are even hand stitched (using scrap pieces of fabrics ....they call it "half and half saree".....in their attic by some poor lady who probably gets paid peanuts too.
The guy (owner) watches his CCTV at the cash counter constantly to watch over his car that is parked at the rear of the shop.
I made the biggest mistake of my life by visiting the store last week. Not only did they ding me $2800.00 off a lehenga set that could not even be considered a wedding lehenga (for those who ask why I paid for it if I don't like the place....The reason is have an idiot sister who is getting married and I am the one paying partially for her wedding. She demanded that I purchase her outfit from there just because her girlfriends did too), the store people treated me like a piece of trash.
One of his "head salesgirls"...a so called "Sharmine" was so rude and wasn't allowing me or my friends to go through the lehengas or sarees properly. She was constantly rushing us and each time we were looking at the price tag, she would literally snatch it from us and say " why are you looking at the price? You will get a discount. You don't know how to choose or buy fabrics. I've been working here for the past 10 years so I'll teach you how to buy".!!!!!!!!!!
I would call myself to have been mentally insane at that time because I went and bought S#%t for $2800.00.
Oh and to top it off with a cherry on the cake, as we were done with the purchase and was about to leave the store, one of my sister's friends turned back to ask a question about a blouse.
The same saleswoman said point blank on her face "sorry I can't help you now because you already completed the purchase and will do so only if you are willing to buy another item".
All the info about what goes on backstage Chandan Fashions has been given to my friends by their own unhappy salesgirls!!!
